Disney World Vacation - December 2013

Happy Holidays!
We had a fabulous vacation in Disney World to kick off the holiday season! The parks were all decked out in holiday decor, it snowed on main street, and Christmas carols rang through the streets at night. We visited Hollywood Studios the day we arrived, then Magic Kingdom for a day, Animal Kingdom for a day, and three more days at Magic Kingdom. We met a ton of characters and even had two character breakfasts...one with Safari Donald and his friends in Animal Kingdom and one with Winnie-the-Pooh and Friends at 'The Crystal Palace' in Magic Kingdom. I think we tried just about every ride...Kevin did the big roller coasters and the rest of us stuck to the more mellow stuff. Harrison bravely tried many new rides, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and Pirates of the Caribbean. But, his favorites were the Kilimanjaro Safaris in Animal Kingdom, and the People Mover, Buzz Lightyear,  and Peter Pan in Magic Kingdom. Declan's favorite was Buzz Lightyear for sure! We all had a wonderful time starting the holiday season in Disney World.

 Hollywood Studios.

Meeting Wreck-it-Ralph and Vanellope.

 Meeting Lightening McQueen and Mater.

Magic Kingdom (our favorite....except Harrison, whose favorite was Animal Kingdom).

Opening the park at Magic Kingdom.

Meeting daisy at the Circus Tent.

Lollipops were a BIG attraction for both Harrison and Declan!

 Cinderella's Castle.

 Off to Animal Kingdom!

Breakfast at the Tusker House Restaurant with Donald, Mickey, Daisy, and Goofy. Pictures, autographs, hugs, and smiles included.

 Harrison's favorite ride...Kilimanjaro Safaris!

We saw tons of animals on our safari ride.

Meeting Chip and Dale at Camp Mickey and Minnie.

 Now entering Dinoland USA.

We saw Santa Goofy in Dinoland!

 The Jingle Jungle Parade.

Back to Magic Kingdom! We were there before the park opened almost every day.

Declan with his Buzz Lightyear Laser Blaster.

We had a great sit-down lunch at the Liberty Square Tavern...you can have Thanksgiving dinner every day.

There was no shortage of great treats and confections.

Our Character breakfast with Winnie-the Pooh and Friends. This was a great breakfast and our favorite meal by far! Harrison and Declan had so much fun meeting the characters and getting hugs and autographs.

We got to meet Sorcerer Mickey, who was great! He was the only character whose mouth moved and who actually talked to the kids and interacted verbally.

Waiting in line to see the best Santa ever!

Santa Claus was great with all the kids. He took lots of time to talk with them and make them feel like he knew them. It was a long wait, but all the kids left feeling very special!

Our last activity was Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party with hot cocoa, cookies, and a Holiday Parade!

Merry Christmas from the most magical place on earth!!
