Kansas City!! August 7th - 13th

Wow! We had such a fun trip to Kansas City this last week to visit Auntie Lisa and Grammy!! Lisa planned activities for everyday and made sure we were never bored. I had no idea how many fun kids' activities are in Kansas City.

We started our journey at the Crayola Cafe and Store in Crown Center. Anything related to crayons and art were at our fingertips.

After making sure our day was full of color, we checked out 'Kaleidoscope'. This is an amazing (FREE) place for kids to express themselves through creation. They got to use paint in a glow room, make their own puzzles and cards, paint butterflies, make collages, and much more.

After two trips through 'Kaleidoscope', we stumbled upon this fun 'Curious George' exhibit for kids!

I got to celebrate my birthday again with the perfect cake!

 Next stop, Sea Life Aquarium!

There were all kinds of starfish and other sea animals in this 'petting pool' that kids could touch.

"Those are funny-looking sea turtles hatching out of that egg!"

On our way to eat lunch in Crown Center, Harrison made a friend.

I'm sure Harrison and Declan would have loved to start with ice cream for lunch, but, even they couldn't eat that much!

We ate lunch at Fritz's...a neat 50's-style diner with a working toy train system that delivers your food! You phone in your order from the table and then a little train delivers it when it's ready.

LegoLand Discovery Center was Harrison's favorite!!

Harrison weighed the equivalent of 42,000 Lego Bricks...

...and, he was a little over 100 bricks tall!

The next day, we got to ride a little locomotive at the Kansas City Northern Railroad and eat lunch in a real train caboose.

On Sunday, we went to the T-REX Cafe. It was so neat!! There were moving dinosaurs that roared, kids could dig for dinosaur bones, pan for fossils or gems, explore all the prehistoric areas of the restaurant, and EAT! Harrison even got to meet one of the dinosaur characters.

On Monday, we went to the movies!

Yesterday, we drove home and made a stop in Lawrence, KS for breakfast at Milton's Cafe and a little walk down memory lane at the University of Kansas...one of my favorite places in the world. What a fun trip!!
