A Weekend of Family Adventures - June 13-16

We celebrated Father's Day weekend with lots of family fun and activities. Harrison and Declan got to see their cousins, Nick and Sam, plus Aunt Karen, Uncle Devin, and Pappy. Golf was played (and watched), we visited the Science Museum, the Butterfly Pavilion, and Pearl Street in Boulder. Then, even more fun was had in the backyard playing in the crazy sprinklers that Pappy brought along for all the boys.

The Making of an Ice Cream Cake - 6/10/13

Oh, the childhood joy of a beater covered in cake batter!!
I couldn't resist taking and posting these pictures from my adventure yesterday making an ice cream cake with Harrison and Declan for Father's Day. They were in heaven when I gave each of them a beater with cake batter on it!

After, the cake batter was gone, the beaters were perfect for a sword fight!

Sprinkles, compliments of Declan.
(yep, that's vanilla bean ice cream for frosting!)

Stuffed Buddies - 6/6/13

Declan wasn't feeling well this evening, so we put him in bed for a nap. Harrison decided that some 'stuffed friends' would help Declan feel better, so he piled every single stuffed animal he could find on and around Declan. He should wake up feeling very loved!

Fun Stuff - 6/2/13

We've been looking for fun stuff to do at home this summer and so far we have made a terrarium, 'stained-glass windows' and a 'bean box'!!

Our terrarium grew so much, we had to take off the lid!

Our 'bean box' is filled with about 25 pounds of various kinds of beans and lots of treasures. Harrison and Declan like to have scavenger hunts, make bean pies, and lots of other imaginative activities!

Bedtime Stories - 6/1/13

Story time with Daddy.

How sweet is this? Declan loves his big brother.
Sweet dreams.

Touch-a-Truck! 6/1/13

Today, we went to the 'Touch-a-Truck' festival and then to 'Taste of Louisville' with Finn and his parents. What a fun time! There were tons of different kinds of trucks, tractors, and buses in a parking lot for kids to climb into and explore. You name it, they had it! There was even a helicopter. Although, there was a little too much 'horn honking' for the adults!

The local firefighters set up a 'burning' house and let the kids hold the fire hose and 'put out the fire'.
