Sesame Street Live! - 11/24/13

Today, we went to see 'Sesame Street Live' in downtown Denver! The show this year was called 'Elmo Makes Music' and was about how we can make music from just about anything in the world around us. It was very cute!

Happy 5th Birthday, Harrison!!! - 11/21/13

 I can't believe it either, but Harrison turned 5 years old today!!! We had a mini birthday celebration at home with Harrison's favorite for lunch (Chik-fil-a), a giant sugar birthday cookie, and presents!

 When Declan saw this big cookie, he kept saying, "Whoa!"

 Harrison helped us sing the 'Happy Birthday' song...

 ...and he made five birthday wishes! 

He blew out each candle one at a time and announced a wish for each one.

Harrison's Birthday Bug Safari! 11/16/13

 Harrison celebrated his 5th birthday a little early yesterday with a 'Birthday Bug Safari Party' at our house. He had eleven preschool friends over to check out all kinds of LIVE bugs that the Butterfly Pavilion brought over to share with the kids. They got to pet giant cockroaches, hold a tarantula, touch a hermit crab and learn about lots of other bugs. We had lunch, cupcakes, cookies and lots of fun!

Harrison and Declan helped me make the chocolate cupcakes and bug cookies for the party.

 Party favors included bug jars (filled with bugs, candy and a magnifying glass), a bug maze book, and an insect or butterfly sticker book.

We had just enough space to set up a special kids' birthday table; and you can't have a bug party without lots of gummy worms!

 Nathan was our 'bug guy' for the party and did a great job teaching and entertaining the kids...and the adults!

 This is 'Rosie', the tarantula, climbing onto Harrison's hand.

Santa's Arrival - 11/9/12

Santa Clause arrived by fire truck at our mall this morning and walked down the red carpet to meet all of his fans! Harrison and Declan got to shake his hand and say 'Hello', then we headed inside for a free breakfast.
